Padel
Padel is a fun and fast-paced racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It’s played on an enclosed court with glass walls, using a solid racket and a low-compression tennis ball.
-
Padel is played on a smaller court with walls that the ball can bounce off, similar to squash. The rackets are solid (without strings), and underarm serves are used, making it easier to learn and more accessible for all skill levels.
-
Padel can be played in singles or doubles but the court price remains the same.
-
The rules are similar to tennis, but the ball can rebound off the walls. Serves must be underarm, and points are scored using the same system as tennis (15, 30, 40, game).
-
You'll need a padel racket (a solid paddle with holes) and a padel ball, which is slightly less pressurised than a tennis ball.
Don’t have your own padel racket or balls? No problem! We offer equipment hire at reception, so you can enjoy the game without needing to invest in gear right away. Whether you're a first-time player or just trying the sport out, we've got you covered.
-
Wear comfortable sportswear—it’s outdoors, so it can be cold! Non-marking court shoes with good grip are recommended, with tennis or court shoes being the best option.
-
Padel is easy to learn, social, and great for fitness. It improves reflexes, coordination, and agility while being less physically demanding than some other sports, making it enjoyable for all ages and skill levels.
-
Booking a court is quick and easy!
