Eco loo update

Groundworks under the new Padel Tennis court are nearly complete with the installation of a rainwater harvesting system which will be used to flush our loos. This will reduce our water consumption and save expensive, drinkable water being flushed down the drain.

Producing clean, drinking water (potable water) is an expensive and labour intensive process. Rainwater can be safely used for non-potable applications like flushing toilets, washing clothes and watering gardens. It is collected from the roof, filtered to remove debris and stored in a tank. The rainwater is then pumped either to a header tank or directly to the toilets. This will reduce our mains water consumption and help (in a small way) to fight climate change.

And lets face it we’ve had no shortage of rain in the last few months…

The installation of the rainwater harvesting system was made possible with a grant from Southern Water. Everyone at Henfield Leisure would like to thank Southern Water for all their help and support in this amazing project.
